    Mesh WiFi Networks

Open Mesh WiFi networks cover dramatically more geographic area and users than previous generations of wireless networks by relying on sophisticated mesh routing technology to increase range and network capacity. Mesh routers accomplish this by spreading a wireless signal across many rooms and buildings - far beyond the range of a single wireless router (even 802.11n routers) that you might find at a computer store.

    How Mesh Networks Work

Instead of relying on a single large antenna to cover every user, each radio in an open-mesh network cooperates to find the best path to carry a user's traffic to the Internet. As they operate, every network re-evaluates thousands of routing paths every minute, resulting in amazing reliability and network capacity. Intelligent mesh routing means that every repeater you add extends the reach of the network and makes the mesh more reliable by adding additional links.
    Open-Mesh Introduction
It is now easy for anyone to extend their wireless coverage throughout their home, school or share with neighbors in an apartment complex. It should take you no more than a few minutes to do it, even if you consider the extent of your technical skills to be no more than turning on your computer and checking your email. The magic that makes this work is the Open-Mesh mini routers (about the size of a pack of cards) that can spread a single DSL across multiple rooms. Home users can simply plug one router into their DSL or cable modem (the "internet") and put additional units ("repeaters") around the house BETWEEN the one plugged into the internet and where you want better coverage. By placing the repeaters half way between you and the internet, you'll make sure the repeater can see both your computer and the Open-Mesh node plugged into the internet, which is important for it to work reliably.

    Advantages of open-mesh

    • It must be affordable
    • It must not require any configuration and be installable by volunteers, property managers or residents with no training.
    • It must be manageable by non-trained property managers.
    • It must provide a connectible signal indoor/outdoor without additional equipment.
    • It must be able to let people know when there is a problem (such as being unplugged).
If you have an Open-Mesh router, the only thing you need to know is where to plug them in.
    Picking a location for Open-Mesh
Two buildings and see how we might provide nearly complete coverage. We'll use 4 nodes (one Gateway and 3 Repeaters). Remember that a Gateway node is simply the one that is plugged into our DSL, and is shown with the line coming in
The green circles show the approximate coverage range of each node. As you can see, by using 4 nodes, we are able to almost completely cover both buildings. Open mesh coverage
Its now possible to use router Ubiquiti Bullet2 and enjoy Open-mesh technology. We authorized distributer and supply Ubiquiti product and Sell Ubiquiti Bullet2 with open-mesh firmware ready. No need to use any skill or software issue the router is ready to use.
